Rental Service Controller
Reports to: Rental Service Manager
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: South West Depot
Salary: Competitive | Depending on Experience
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Rental Service Manager, key tasks will include but are not limited to assisting and supporting with the day-to-day activities of our team of skilled field service engineers to ensure an efficient and responsive service.
Work collaboratively with Rental Service Supervisors and colleagues across the business to effectively manage operational requirements.
Handling inbound and outbound service/breakdown enquiries via telephone and email to maximize asset utilization and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary contact for service-related enquiries.
- Arrange service visits and maintain clear communication with customers.
- Assist with coordinating engineer response and planning preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and remote repairs.
- Handle inbound/outbound email communications.
- Collaborate with neighboring departments to ensure all internal rental service team requirements and requests are actioned accordingly.
- Uphold a high standard of communication both externally and internally.
Skills & Experience
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills required.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Good IT skills, primarily Excel and Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Ability to learn in-house systems
- Basic mechanical or electrical system knowledge desirable but not essential.
- Must collaborate well with others.
