Accounts Assistant – Sales Ledger & Credit Control

Job Title: Accounts Assistant – Sales Ledger & Credit Control

Hours: Full Time 8.30am - 5.00pm (37.5 hours)

Location: Warmley, Bristol

Job Purpose

As a key member of the Finance team of the largest generator hire company in the South West, you will assist with invoicing and credit control, providing effective and efficient customer service at all times.

A hands-on, “down to earth” pragmatic, and proactive approach to finance is essential for this role. The successful candidate will be a quick learner, flexible and self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute proactively within the team and the wider organisation.

Key Tasks & Main Duties

  1. Process all delivery notes, sales despatch notes and workshop job sheets to produce invoices, and liaise with the relevant departments concerned (Rental, Service and Parts)
  2. Run the monthly continuing invoice run for the Rental department
  3. Ensure all cash-only continuing invoices are processed by 24th of each month and paid by the end of the month
  4. Produce credit notes as required and, if necessary, liaising with the customer to resolve any invoicing queries
  5. Produce all internal Transport sales invoices and all intercompany purchase invoices
  6. Process all statements at month end, liaising with the Credit Controller to issue overdue letters with statements where required
  7. Assist the Credit Controller with overdue accounts as required, assisting to resolve any disputes as necessary
  8. Responsible for the ‘Accounts Receivable’ mailbox to ensure all emails are dealt with in a timely manner.
  9. Process all credit card payments
  10. Ad-hoc work as required in the Finance department
  11. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying-out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are kept tidy
  12. Comply with all aspects of the company ISO 9001:2015 procedures, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme

Skills & Experience Required

  1. Good organisational and communication skills
  2. Sales Ledger experience essential
  3. Good IT skills to include Excel
