Job Title: CAD Technician

Reports to: Solutions and Contracts Manager

Hours: Full-Time 

Location: London

Job Purpose

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and undertaking CAD/BIM works to assist the Sales and Projects Teams in supporting Installation Projects. This will involve meeting with Managers, Engineers, Sales, and Customers to support from concept to completion whilst ensuring the achievement of all targeted requirements as agreed with the Solutions and Contracts Manager.


They will be knowledgeable and have extensive experience in latest 2D and 3D modelling and Software, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to work individually or as part of a team, ensuring drawing production is maintained to meet Customer and Internal programme demands.


They will be able to transform initial concepts and designs into full computer-generated images using the latest Software.


They will ensure that the works are carried out safely, in line with Company Health and safety requirements.

Key Tasks & Main Duties

  1. Manage the complete CAD process from concept to completion in line with Sales and Projects requirements
  2. Use software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs and drawings for basic and complex projects
  3. Ensure Health and Safety systems are adhered to in line with Company Health and Safety plan
  4. Attend meetings, both internal and external as required, to review initial concepts and latest designs
  5. Actively contribute to any design concepts to improve efficiencies
  6. Input designs and specification requirements in to 2D and 3D Software to produce full scheme drawings
  7. Work with all stakeholders and individually on Projects
  8. Liaise with all department personnel and customers to ensure accurate output
  9. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are kept tidy, this includes any company vehicles
  10. Comply with all aspects of the company ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 procedures, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.

Skills & Experience Required

  1. Previous CAD/BIM Modelling experience essential
  2. Advanced knowledge of CAD/BIM Modelling Software
  3. Ability to read and interpret concept and technical drawings
  4. Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical design
  5. Good organisational and communication skills
  6. Ability to work individually or part of a team
  7. Excellent IT skills
  8. Keen eye for detail
  9. Ability to work well under pressure and to timescales
  10. CAD/BIM Certification
