What is the job?

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Power Electrics, one of the UK’s largest generator specialists. This is a warehouse-based role where you will be responsible for the preparation, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment, including rental cables, distribution panels, and associated accessories. You will ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards, and you will manage the necessary spare parts required for repairs and maintenance.

You will be working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, collaborating with other teams, so strong technical skills and excellent communication are essential.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Prepare single and three-phase rental equipment, such as AMF panels, distribution boards, isolation panels, and transformers. Perform electrical testing, inspections, and record results.
  • Test and prepare rental cables, including single cables (up to 240mm²) and multicore cables (up to 35mm²).
  • Assemble rental cables and accessories using connectors such as lugged connections, Powerlock, and Ceeform plugs/sockets.
  • Perform repairs on distribution boards and related electrical equipment as required, ensuring all repairs meet operational standards and are completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage and source necessary spare parts for repairs and maintenance, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective inventory of components.
  • Ensure efficient workflow within the warehouse, prioritising tasks related to electrical bay activities.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including off-hiring, loading, and unloading equipment, and reporting any damages to the Operations Team.
  • Maintain close communication with the Operations Team, updating them on fleet availability and identifying any shortfalls.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health & Safety, Environmental, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001), maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in all aspects of equipment testing, maintenance, and safety.

  • Previous electrical experience (minimum of 2 years) in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Experience in repairing distribution panels and managing spare parts.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
