Job Title: Fabricator / Welder

Reports To: Fabrication Foreman

Hours: Full-Time 

Location: Warmley, Bristol

Salary: £27,700

Job Purpose

This is an excellent opportunity to work with the largest generator specialist in the South West, based in Bristol. The main focus of this role will be fabricating bespoke enclosures and ISO containers, which can be up to approximately 40ft in length, for our range of diesel generators.

Key Tasks & Main Duties

  1. Operation of guillotine, press brake and general sheet metal work
  2. Fabrication of aluminium, stainless and mild steel sheet and sections, thickness from 1mm to 15mm
  3. MIG Welding sheet from 1mm to 15mm, sections from 3mm to 15mm
  4. TIG welding – aluminium up to 5mm, stainless up to 3mm sheet
  5. Manual cutting with Plasma and Flame cut methods
  6. Translate drawn requirements into manufactured components in the most efficient manner
  7. Work to written manufacturing instructions
  8. Liaise with other fabricators / staff to ensure optimum production efficiency and effectiveness is achieved
  9. Maintain a clean and orderly workplace environment compatible with an open workshop facility
  10. Use of appropriate hand held and powered tools and equipment as applicable in carrying out the tasks set
  11. Liaison with staff, supervisors and management to ensure parts availability is appropriate for the required tasks
  12. General assistance in workshop.
  13. Provide general assistance in yard, including loading and offloading materials and equipment (after forklift licence has been taken).
  14. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy. This includes company vehicles.
  15. Comply with all aspects of the company quality management procedures (ISO 9001:2015), environmental management standards (ISO 14001: 2015) and the ISO 45001:2018 Health & Safety standard, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.

Skills & Experience Required

  1. General engineering background
  2. Strong fabrication experience
  3. TIG welding experience
  4. Coded welder – Desirable
