What is the job?

As one of the largest generator specialists, our mission is to explore new opportunities where reliable power is critical and continue to grow sustainably in current markets.

We now have an excellent opportunity for someone to help us meet the growing demand for our services.  You will be joining a small team responsible for the repair, refurbishment and testing for our fleet of Containagens (Diesel generators ranging from 20 kVA to 250 kVA).  This is mainly a depot-based role but you may occasionally have to travel to customer sites.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Be responsible for the refurbishment of engines, service, maintenance and overall upkeep and appearance of damaged or non-functional containerised generators (20kva – 200kva) ensuring a good stock level is kept at all times, to support the Rental fleet.
  • Liaise with the Parts and Fabrication departments when ordering parts or repairs.
  • Prepare and service generators for all departments as and when required.
  • Drive fork lift in yard as required.
  • Carry out servicing and repairs to Power Electrics and customers’ equipment off site as and when required.
  • Participate in the call-out rota (following suitable training).
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Company’s ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001:2015 / Environmental - ISO 14001: 2015 / Occupational health and safety management - ISO 45001:2018, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.

Skills and requirements

  1. Possess a relevant qualification in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering/ Diesel Fitting/ Plant i.e. City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent OR to have previous experience and knowledge of generators or diesel engines. (Essential)
  2. Full Driving Licence (with towing categories preferred). (Essential)
  3. Fork Lift Truck Licence advantageous but training can be given.
  4. Previous experience of working in a workshop environment advantageous.
  5. Holder of CSCS Card preferred.
  6. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  7. Have a flexible approach to work as the needs of the business dictate.

Please note: Training can be given to suitable applicants if they do not have all the pre-requisites for the job role.
