Rental Controller

Job Title: Rental Controller

Reports To: Depot Manager

Hours: Full-Time 

Location: Midlands - WV10 7DF

Job Purpose

This is an exciting oppotunity to work for the largest generator specialist in the South West.

Working at our depot based in the Midlands, you will be part of a small team, with your primary focus on preparing quotations, telesales and follow up calls with customers who have been provided with quotations. This is a varied role and on occasions you may be required to work overtime. Working hours are 08:30 - 17:00 and you may be required to work Saturday mornings 08:00 - 12:00 on a rota basis, which will be paid at time and a half.

Key Tasks & Main Duties

  1. Answer telephone calls, take enquiries and problem solve all of customers' needs 
  2. Produce hire quotes for new and existing clients with reference to rental pricing data
  3. Communicate and liaise with the Depot Manager and Yard Foreman on a daily basis for plant allocation and scheduling work
  4. Liaise with the Transport department for availability of haulage for delivery of rental equipment
  5. Liaise with Depot Manager and Hire Manager to produce orders for cross hire equipment if required 
  6. Assist in recording details of new purchase orders into the diary system
  7. Liaise with the Accounts department with the opening of new customer accounts 
  8. Ensure compliance with the company procedures when receiving customer purchase orders 
  9. Ensure high value enquiries are passed onto the relevant Sales Manager in a timely manner
  10. Proactively chase outstanding quotes and report findings to the appropriate Manager
  11. Produce rental-related paperwork (e.g. Job Sheets, Delivery and Off Hire Notes etc.)
  12. General administration duties
  13. Ensure you adhere comply all aspects of the company ISO 9001:2015 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmnetal) procedures, proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme

Skills & Experience Required

  1. Good organisational and communication skills 
  2. Managing key account customers
  3. Good telephone manner
  4. Previous telephone sales or customer service experience
  5. Previous experience negotiating skills 
  6. Good IT skills, primarily Excell and Word
  7. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  8. Ability to learn in-house systems
  9. Flexibility and co-operation in the way you work
