Service Sales Manager

Job Title: Service Sales Manager

Reports To: Aftermarket Manager

Hours: Full-Time 

Location: Warmley, Bristol

Job Purpose

We are one of the leading and largest generator specialists in the UK, providing bespoke temporary power solutions to customers through our hire, sales, servicing and parts divisions. As a valuable member of the aftermarket team, you will identify and secure service contract sales and opportunities for upgrades and modifications of generator installations and switchgear systems and liaise with internal members of the team to enable them to deliver your winning opportunities.

Key Tasks & Main Duties

  1. Implement the Service Sales Strategy
  2. Seek out and respond to service & project opportunities with new and existing customers in the following areas:
    1. New business long term service contracts
    2. Generator Repair and Refurbishment
    3. Relocation of Generators and ancillary equipment
    4. Upgrade of Electrical Systems
    5. Upgrade of Mechanical Systems
    6. Additional Project work, as required
  3. Responsible for the growth and development if your Customer Portfolio's in line with the service team budget
  4. Achieving and managing delivery of service sales growth targets for Power Electrics Generators Ltd
  5. Ensuring performance on all other sales K.P.I.s are within agreed targeted levels
  6. Ensuring that all possilbe service sales opportunities are identified and converted into revenue
  7. Preparing of all pricing for quotes PPQ's and tender proposals
  8. Actively seeks out new customers, focusing on the Commercial, Industrial, IT/Banking, Facilities Management, Utilities & Healthcare Market sectors
  9. Preparing and providing sales performance reports to the Aftermarket Manager as and when requested to specific deadlines
  10. Ensuring outgoing quotations are completed in a timely manner, are accurate and professionally presented
  11. Quotation follow up
  12. Ensure that all successful projects are handed over to the project team in line with Company Procedures 
  13. Contribute £1.2m to the annual Service Department Budget
  14. Work with the Aftermarket Manager to develop the strategy for growing the service business
  15. Comply with all relevant Health and Safety Regulations, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are safe and tidy. This includes company vehicles
  16. Comply with all aspects of the company's ISO management system standards in quality and environmental management, as well as health and safety best practice, proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme 

Skills & Experience Required

  1. Proven experience in a customer-facing service sales environment, preferably from a Mechanical/Electrical background
  2. Ability to work autonomously to achieve or exceed agreed targets
  3. Excellent customer handling skills are essential along with a sound commercial perspective
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  6. Well organised and disciplined, demonstrating the ability to accurately analyse and report on information gained
  7. Confidence to work on own initiative with good planning and preparation skills 
  8. Ability to demonstrate a competent level of IT understanding 
  9. Smart appearance, including company vehicle, in keeping with the company image
