Distribution Network Operator

The Challenge

To supply reliable power to a major distribution network operations for five days, and to be on hand with back up generators if the scale of the task increased.

The Solution

For a hire period of five days, we supplied fourteen 500kVAs and two 300kVAs to support substations in the South West of England whilst connections to the primary 33kV substation were upgraded. As a further precaution, we also held four 1000kVAs, a 1250kVA and an 800kVA on standby at our headquarters ready for rapid dispatch if required.

We delivered and offloaded the generators ourselves using eight lorries from our in-house transport fleet. Two of our trained engineers were also on hand to assist in connecting the generators to the substations. This is part of the hire service that Power Electrics are proud to offer.
