Groundwater Management Organisation

HS2 is one of the most demanding and exciting transport projects in Europe. Upon completion, the railway will link London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds with a new "Y"-shaped network of 225mph tracks.

A groundwater management company came to us requiring a 60kVA generator that followed Tier 3 specification to provide power for its equipment onsite at an HS2 project. The customer provides construction dewatering and groundwater management, as well as providing well-drilling services, pumping tests and ground source energy systems.

The Challenge

The groundwater management company required that the 60kVA generator followed Tier 3 specification as required by HS2, to run a water pump. They had previously used a competitor that didn’t provide tier 3 engine requirements. Before going ahead with delivery and installation, they required proof that the Power Electrics generator followed Tier 3 specification.

The Solution

Power Electrics successfully supplied all contact information, details of the FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) specification vehicle driver, vehicle reg as well as photographic evidence of the plate to prove it reached tier 3 requirements two days before commencing delivery.

Business Development Manager, Chris Sole, worked with the team and client of the HS2 project to ensure it ran smoothly, “We are proud to have completed another job for the HS2 project through ensuring requirements were met and deadlines completed. We are currently working to deliver another project for the client at one of the leading independent schools in the UK”.
