Major London Airport

A major London airport came to Power Electrics when it required temporary power for staff cabins during the refurbishment of a terminal.

The Challenge

The customer required the temporary power to comply with an environmental policy, which aims to reduce company CO2 emissions. To do this meant finding a way to reduce the size of the generator or find a way to limit the amount of time it was needed to run for while ensuring the power requirements were met.

The Solution

Along with a 40kVA set, a hybrid generator unit was included to meet the customer’s requirements of complying with the environmental policy. When combined with a diesel generator our hybrid rental units reduce fuel consumption, helping end-users reduce their fuel bills and cut emissions on site.

Regional Sales Manager, Lee Sharp commented on the project: “We worked very closely with the client in delivering this solution. The inclusion of a hybrid unit meant we were able to meet all of the client’s power requirements and also comply with their environmental policies, reducing CO2 and diesel consumption by 86%.”
