  • Air intake system
  • Control panel & instruments
  • Exhaust system
  • Engine electrical system
  • Alternator and general engine maintenance

And changing oil and filters.

The generator is started, and all engine functions and alternator outputs are checked and recorded.

Although the Minor service is a thorough inspection of your generator, it’s more of a check-up service that includes checking lubrication oil, spark plugs and more. To find out more about what is included in these service inspections.

What is generator maintenance?

Diesel generator sets whether for purposes of a main or emergency supply, must be regularly maintained to ensure quality and longevity. Every standby generator should go through a preventative maintenance service regimen either every 400 hours or every 6 months (typically works out to be once a year) – depending on how regularly the generator is used.

The benefits of a generator maintenance service are:

  • Extends longevity
  • Prevent failures down the road e.g. discharged battery
  • Helps maintain efficiency
  • Provides emergency power for many years
  • Prevents diesel from wet stacking
  • Checks for signs of wear
  • Drain and replace fuel
  • Inspect and replace the oil filter

Where can I get my generator serviced?

Maintenance works can be carried out either on-site or at one of Power Electrics’ fully equipped service workshops. We are also happy to relocate your generator to anywhere in the UK where all relocations are undertaken by trained personnel. Relocation services include but are not limited to:

  • Repair, Refurbishment & Relocation of Generator associated equipment
