Power Electrics attains ISO 45001:2018 Certification

The leading UK generator specialist, Power Electrics, has achieved ISO 45001:2018 certification for it's continued commitment to improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and promote workplace safety culture.

Power Electrics has attained ISO 45001:2018 certification for its occupational health and safety management systems. This latest version of the framework, published in March 2018, is designed to further improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and promote workplace safety culture.

The standard was developed by a committee of occupational health and safety experts, and follows other generic management system approaches such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. ISO 45001 is set to replace OHSAS 18001 over the next couple of years, and looks to improve organisations’ workplace safety culture.

Instead of simply referring to Power Electrics’ specific safety policy and programme, the idea of safety culture is encapsulated by the mindsets, attitudes and behaviours of workers, supervisors, managers and owners towards safety in the workplace. ISO 45001:2018 encourages a successful and effective health and safety programme by developing a positive safety culture in the workplace.

The system emphasises prevention and continuous improvement, engaging workers with top management, as well as involving staff in the task planning process.

I’m incredibly proud we have achieved this universally recognised certification, building on our existing strong safety record. Health and safety is a core priority for team here at Power Electrics, and we’re dedicated to continuously improving it
Brett Mann, EHS&Q Director at Power Electrics
